This was a decision we thought long and hard about but it was necessary to continue running our store appropriately.
When we first opened our store back in July 2012, our focus was solely towards Cell Phone Cases. We had a large selection of iPhone 4/4S and Samsung Galaxy S3 cases, and with the new releases of cell phones, we expanded! Our business took off quickly and we were happy to deliver and keep expanding, but this last year has hit us very hard with the release of the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Unfortunately, the S6 Edge is almost impossible to keep safe because of it's curved screen. Though it is a beautiful phone, the point of the cell cases was to protect all sides, including the front of the phone by creating bumpers in case of a frontward fall. With the S6, this just cannot be done without making the curve part of the phone unusable.... which then why get the phone at all. It is a conundrum. I myself had to make this choice between the sleek S6 Edge or just the S6 and in the end, I chose the classic look with the S6 instead of the Edge.
With the iPhone 6, although Apple claims to have amazing sale records, the cell phone case world isn't doing so great. It may also have to do with competition with the Chinese.... this year, like almost every year, postal costs increased. eBay is famous for encouraging and rewarding sellers who use Free Shipping. That would be great, but even the cheapest shipping is now over $2 (with the required tracking #s) So I would need to raise my cell case prices to compensate for the increases... which I did but then I ran into more trouble when my suppliers (all of them) stopped making the cell cases I was supplying. This hit a huge brick wall for us and I had to make a decision, spend more on cases and continue competing with the Chinese dirt cheap prices and their ways of getting around the postal rates or do I stop now, continuing selling until my stock is diminished and work on expanding our Baby Shower Gifts (which I actually have way more fun doing to be honest lol)... and it's pretty obvious now which way I chose to go.
So if you're looking for a cell case, you will still be able to find them in our store, but it will no longer be our focus, we will be moving on to making more Baby Shower Gifts for your, your friends, or your family's perfect Baby Shower!
